New Bookings

Posted by on Nov 8, 2013 in Uncategorized | 31 Comments

My name is Jamie Stephens and I am the founder and chief wrangler of Book’d.  I started Book’d many moons ago because I believed anybody should be able to easily accept appointments online for their time. I wanted to enable anybody with a skill to more effectively profit from what they do, whether they are an established business offering a wide array of services or just someone like me who wants to offer drum lessons in his spare time on the weekend.

There were four principles guiding the creation of Book’d:

* Time is precious. It is our most valuable resource and it is not renewable. We should make the most of it.
* We all have something to offer others. We all have acquired valuable experiences, skills, and services that we can share with others.
* A booking solution should be powerful enough to really save you time, but simple enough that you don’t need instructions.
* A booking solution should be affordable for anyone.

When we first introduced Book’d, we got a lot of incredible feedback and knew that we had hit onto something of value for folks.  Our customers were exactly the kind of folks we were looking to help: salons, consultants, photographers, acupuncturists, and others whose businesses relied on their appointments.  But we knew we could do better – for them and for others whose who perhaps need to take appointments, but it wasn’t their core business.  We also realized that it was very important to let our customers own the booking experience and put their own brand and identity on it. So we listened and we built.

I am excited to share that after much work from a small group of dedicated folks who share this vision, we are very close to presenting a new Book’d that almost anyone should be able to use.  Stay tuned.  We think it will be a good time.

Came across your site from a blog, looking for an alternative to the long deceased tungle. You still in private beta?

    Hey,

Just trying out the Beta – I have lots of suggestions – it would be great if you guys setup something along the lines of Uservoice page or something to allow us to vote and suggest features?

Excited to see what it becomes, at the moment can’t replace my current system (set more) as its missing some key basic features but it certainly seems more promising for the future.

    All the best,

Hi, will you have the ability to book multiple services for a single appointment? Such as an eyebrow wax + leg wax. We are a spa looking for another booking option. I’d like to try the beta.

      Hi Brian,

We do have the ability to create add-ons for the service. Each add-on can have its own price and duration that is added to the core service you are offering. We’d love your feedback on how that works for you.

      Thanks!
      Jamie

Hi John, it will allow you to accept payments online from your customers by integrating your Stripe account. We don’t have a Quickbooks plugin/export at this time. It is something we are considering in the future.

      Thanks!

        sounds good Jamie
We are a payment processor with WorldPay and we bring a QB plugin tool as well as mobile pay solutions and a full blown merchant services program to our partners. I noticed after researching that your competitors offer an integrated solution so i thought i’d reach out.
I will stay in touch and reach out when you publish a phone #.

All the best for your launch!
